LEWISVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
In
the early 1930s a number of red-brick schools were built to replace older
facilities such as the white-wooden high school
in Lewisville, Ohio. When new, these
red-brick schools functioned as high schools.
They served relatively local areas and drew from a wider area than their
predecessors. When this building was
opened it continued to use space in the superceded white-wooden Lewisville High
School. The latter became the local
elementary school. In 1958 Lewisville
High School was consolidated with other local high schools to become Skyvue
High School which was located at Stafford, Ohio. At that time the above building became the Lewisville Elementary School. Then in 1966 a new Skyvue
High School was constructed on Hartshorn Ridge and the Stafford Skyvue High
School was moved into the new building.
Finally,
in 1994 Skyvue High School became Skyvue Elementary School
and the High School was moved to the new facility, Monroe Central, which is located
about 12 miles east of Woodsfield, Ohio on Ohio Route # 78.
