He approached life with honesty and a strong sense
of right and wrong. He never compromised his values, always chose to do the
'right" thing, without regard for any personal hardships that might
result. His faith gave him the strength to overcome any difficult.
Alfred was not afraid of hard work. Although, as a farmer,
he was faced with physical labor, long days, and the uncertainty that comes
from being at the mercy of Mother Nature. He seemed to be at peace working with
the land and caring for his animals. He savored the joys this way of life
offered. He believed in charity, always willing to share anything he owned, or
opened his home to anyone in need. He never met a stranger. Alfred considered
himself to be a wealthy man because he had so much of the things he valued most
in life; his family and friends. He was grateful for his many blessings. His
integrity and kindness served as an inspiration to all who were fortunate
enough to know him.
