Left-to-Right: Julia Viola (Ola) Hodge Young, Bessie C.M. Hodge, Forrest Henry Hodge. This photo was probably taken in 1905.

Ola Hodge (December 7, 1888 - June 21, 1956) married William E. Young (May 20, 1881 - October 24, 1970) on September 7, 1905. This photo was likely one of a series of photos taken about the time of Ola s wedding. Ola and Will lived the rest of their lives about one mile south east of Lewisville, Ohio about 200 yards south of Route 78 going toward Woodsfield.  Ola and Bills first of six children, Their oldest daughter, Audra Lavada Young Harrington, was born and lived for seven years in a log house at the bottom of the hill where their new home was built.

Bessie C.M. Hodge (March 10, 1884 abt. 1960) was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Hodge and a McVay. She was the first cousin of Ola and Forrest Hodge. Bessie married Andres Leroy Devore (September 19, 1883 - ? ) on December 30, 1908 in Monroe Co. Ohio.  Bessie had a daughter who died in infancy and is buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Bessie and Andres also had two sons: Rex and Ellis Devore. Bessie died in or near Madison, Kansas.  Both Bessie and her husband, Andres Devore, are buried in Emporia, Kansas.

Forrest Henry Hodge was almost exactly two years older than Ola Hodge. Two years after the wedding of his sister, Ola, Forrest married the lovely Edith Richards Edington. Forrest became a salesman of oil field equipment including the heavy and powerful engines used to drill and pump the wells.

It is likely that a photo of Ola s younger sister, Addie, was taken about the same time as the above picture.
