LAST WILL and TESTAMENT of HARVEY M. HENDERSHOT

 

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all.

Harvey M. Hendershot, of Jerusalem Monroe County State of Ohio, do make and publish This my last will and testament:

 

Item first: I will and devise all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid out of my Estate and a suitable monument for myself and my wife to be erected at my gr..e costing ..ne hundred and fifty dollars.

 

Item second: I give and devise to my beloved wife, of her dower, all the rest and res e of my property of what ever kind, consisting of lands, stock, money household goods and all other goods and chattels during her natural life. At the death of my said wife I g e and devise to my son, William B. Hendershot, the sum of nine hundred dollars. I give and devise to my son M. C. Hendershot at the death of my said wife the sum of four hundred dollars. I give and devise to my daughter Ella Hendershot at the death of my said wife the sum one hundred dollars.

 

Item third: I will, devise and bequeath, that all the rest and residue of my property left after the payment of the above bequests be sold and divided equally among the following married children and the heir share and share alike. Subject however to the bequests herein provided for in Item Two and Four of this will. To my daughter Sarah Beard and her heirs one seventh. To my daughter Mary Dennis and her heirs one seventh. To my son M. C. Hendershot and his heirs one seventh. To my daughter Ella

Hendershot and her heirs one seventh. To my daughter Belle Kindelberger and her heirs one seventh and to my daughter Josephine Ralston and her heirs one seventh. To my son Wm B. Hendershot and his heirs one seventh.

 

Item Fourth: I give and devise to my grand daughter Bessie Winland one hundred dollars. I give and devise to my grand children son and daughter of my daughter Jane, Casler deceased, who now reside in Wisconson, the sum of one hundred dollars each. I give and devise to my grand daughter Elizabeth Dennis (who is now living with me) the sum of twelve hundred dollars. All of the above to be paid by my executor after the death of my wife.

 

Item Fifth: I hereby nominate and appoint my son M. C. Hendershot, to sell the oil produced from my lands at the time of my decease and to pay over the proceeds to the persons entitled to same.

 

Item sixth: I do hereby nominate and appoint my son M. C. Hendershot executor of this last will and testament.

 

Item 7th I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In testimony hereof I have Hereunto act my hand and seal, this 15th day of January A. D. 1908. Harvey M. Hendershot Signed and acknowledged by said Harvey M. Hendershot, as his last will and testament, in Our presence, and signed by us in his presence.

Thompson Judge of Probate Court in and for the County of Monroe and State of Ohio hereby certify the above and foregoing to be a true and complete record of the last will and testament of Harvey M. Hendershot late of this county, deceased, with the entry of probate thereof and the testimony taken to .. will .. same remains on file and of record in the Court and in my custody.
