Biographical Sketch of William Sheridan Kinkade

Ben F. Dixon's book 1932, Our Book:  Our Ancestors, Ourselves, and Our Children , Pages 225, says:

Uncle Bill has been a railroader all his life, having spent many years in the service of the Great Northern and Santa Fe Railways. He worked for the latter road as section and extra gang foreman until finally retired by the company. He lost the sight of one eye due to eye strain in lining track in blistering hot weather.

Uncle Bill started the author on his career in 1908, when at the age of 16 I went to work on his section at Wyaconda, at a dollar and a quarter a day. Many are the fond memories of Aunt Mag's hot biscuit which we had every morning for breakfast, and the biscuit-and-jelly sandwiches which she put in our dinner pails.

Address: W.S. Kinkade, Wyaconda, MO.
