Alice Louise Dixon nee Dwelle

Alice Louise Dwelle was born on a farm near Cedar Point,
Kansas, April 26, 1891. Father: Ferguson E. Dwelle, one of the early settlers
of Cedar Creek county of Chase County, Kansas.
He came from Corning, N.Y., with his brother Cuyler in 1872 ahead of the
railway. He married Anna Williams, a
school teacher in 1890. Alice Dwelle
graduated from the high school and normal school courses at the Kansas State
Teachers College, Emporia, Kansas, finishing in 1912, with a life certificate
and also certificates in vocal and public school music. She taught successively at Reading, Kans.,
Antlers, Okla., Russell, Kans., Blackwell, Okla., Nickerson, Beloit, and Cedar
Point, Kans. She is a member of the
O.E.S.
