Barbara Weisend Burkhart was born January 18, 1842, in Monroe County, a daughter of Jacob Weisend and Catherine Ulrich. She married George F. Burkhart in Monroe County in 1864. She was the mother of eleven children. She lived most of her life in Miltonsburg, Ohio, until 3 years prior to her death October 1930, at the home of a daughter near Canton, Stark County, Ohio.
