FORMER St. PETER'S CHURCH in LEWISVILLE, OHIO, 2002

This photo of the St. Peter's German Evangelical Protestant Church of Lewisville, Ohio was taken in September 2002. The church served its congregation for well over 100 years. During much of this time the sermons were in German. It ceased to function because the aging congregation was unable to support it. St. Peters of Lewisville joined two other churches in similar circumstances and in September of 1962, consolidated to form the Trinity United Church of Christ. Eventually, the building was sold and pressed into service as an automotive garage and tire shop as shown above. For pictures of the inside of the building click on "Inside 1" and Inside 2." Click here for a picture taken of the church in 1979 before it was modified to a garage. This building is located at latitude N 39o 45.801' and longitude W 081o 13.116'.
