WHO
WAS "SPICER?"
The name "Spicer" has come up a few
times in some of the stories about Monroe County, Ohio. For example, Spicer was
apparently involved with the murder of the four girls in the story of the THE CROW FAMILY OF GREENE COUNTY, PA, AND MONROE
COUNTY, OHIO.
In addition, in response to an inquiry
regarding 'Spicer' a reader commented, "I don't know his first name. That's the only name
ever given for him. I did read one time about a Spicer family that was killed and
two of the children taken into captivity, but I don't know if that would be the
same Spicer."
If anyone has additional information about
Spicer, would you please advise Karen Romick, at Karen Romick or at the postal address given on the home
page.
A member of the MCC of OGS who
was familiar with this case e-mailed us the answer. The member wrote, "I was reading Affair at Captina Creek by Harry Enochs
and it identified the Spicer as William Spicer." William Spicer was one of the Spicer children kidnapped
during the raid on the Spicer family that was mentioned above.
