Construction of the Smith Hotel in Woodsfield, Ohio 1898 1899

This rare photo taken just before the turn of the century shows the Smith Hotel under construction in Woodsfield, Ohio. "Smith Hotel, Woodsfield, O." was written on the bottom front of the photo mat and Reuben Perry Ralston's name and address were written on the back, both in Reuben Ralston's handwriting.  The photo is from the collection of Esther Virginia Ralston the daughter of Reuben Perry Ralston's and his second wife, Effie Temperance Snodgrass Ralston Truex.

The Mooneys paid to have hotel built.
