* This story
about her grandfather was told to Sandy Paulus by her mother Marie:
Seems there was this beautiful young lady came to visit. Wes saw
her go in the house and had to see more of her. The ladies were in the parlor
chatting, and he could not get a good enough look. He thought it would be a
good idea to stand on a chair and look over the room divider curtain. He was
getting a real good look until the chair slipped. He lost his balance, and he
and the curtains landed on the parlor floor right in front of that good looking
young lady. Boy was he ever embarrassed. The young lady must have been
impressed though, she became his wife, Stella (Maggie) Schaub.
From the collection of Sandy (Paulus) Franklin.
