HENRY
& MARTHA ARABELLA "BELLE" PIATT MCKELVEY
This photo of Henry and his wife Martha Arabella
"Belle" Piatt McKelvey was estimated to be from about 1930. It was likely taken at Belle and Henry's
home in Salem Township on Sykes Ridge above Clarington. The house and barn
still stand in an S-curve not far from the eastern end of Sykes Ridge Road.
Martha Arabella "Belle" Piatt was the
daughter of John P.
Piatt and Elizabeth Shriver. Belle
was born Aug 1864 and died 5 Dec 1941.
She is buried in Powhatan Cemetery, Belmont Co.
Belle was married on 5 April 1894, as the second
wife of Henry McKelvey. He was born
July 1862 and died after his wife.
Seven children were born to Henry and Belle.
They were:
Ada L. McKelvey born 1890 (by first wife)
Floyd Cecil McKelvey born 1895
Laura O. McKelvey born 1896
Lester or Leslie D. McKelvey born 1898
Roy McKelvey born 1899
Ralph McKelvey born 1903
Ronald Piatte McKelvey born 1907.
