Children of John and
Catherine Pfalzgraf
Eleven children were born to John and Catherine Pfalzgraf in the hewed-log house on today s township road #156 (Pfalzgraf Road) and this brought the total to twelve--eight sons and four daughters. One of those was called away at the young age of five years. The others lived to reach school-age and adulthood. The Pfalzgraf children began their education in the one-room Fairfax School which, at that time, was located on a wagon road in the northeast one-fourth of the southwest quarter of Adam s Township. The location was a few hundred feet south of today s State Route #78 and about a mile west of the junction of State Route #536 with State Route #78. -- Taken from an article by Ruth Hunnell Dennison, 1981
