BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF MARY ELIZABETH UDELL LATTA

Mary Elizabeth Udell Latta was born in Salesville, Ohio, on November 9, l879. She was baptized into the Salem, Ohio, Baptist Church by Rev. Kerr. She taught in the country schools in Guernsey and Belmont Counties for several years. She attended the Chicago Baptist Missionary Training School andmarried John Tilden Latta on September 9, l905. They sailed to Burma under the American Baptist Mission Society in October, l905. Mary taught in the elementary schools when her husband John was a Baptist missionary. They continued their mission work in Burma until April 1, l940. All of her six children were born there.
