View of the Clock Works
This view of the Clock Works shows the
top portion of the machine that controls the hands of the clock at the four
quadrants. The light gray rod that disappears off the right of the picture
connects to the clock faces and controls the hands of the clock. The black
electric motor connected to the Clock Works by a bicycle chain replaced the
descending-weights power system in 1947.
