My cousin Don lived just a couple miles further east on East Tuscarawas than we did, so we spent a lot of time playing together as children, at his house or ours. The houses were far enough apart though that we went to different elementary and high schools. As teenagers we enjoyed water skiing together, riding in his MG, playing tennis and cards, double dating. After graduation from high school, he went to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and I got to go to the Army-Navy football game and to June Week there. Later I "fixed him up" with my sorority sister from Kent State University, JoAnn Hartsock. They married, moved to a century home in Pennsylvania, and had two children, Sara and Ann.

Today -- February 21, 2017 -- we are still all good friends.
