Mrs. Columbia Harsh, wife of William H.
Harsh, of Caldwell, has received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. Anna Meek Carpenter, aged seventy
years, widow of J. A. Carpenter, which occurred at her home in Springfield,
Ohio, last Wednesday. Her husband died
eighteen years ago and since his death she had resided at Springfield.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. N. M. Meek, of Summerfield, and was born at Antioch, Monroe County. She was a member of the Church of God, at
Springfield.
Seven children survive with one brother,
Charles H. Meek, of Summerfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Harsh, of Caldwell and
Mrs. Mary Keylor, of Woodsfield. One
brother, J. W. Meek is deceased.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the
Church of God and burial was made in a cemetery at Huntsville. Thursday 2 July 1942 Noble County Leader.
Mrs. Anna Carpenter, 69, died at 1:45 P.M.
Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Duer, National Road west,
Springfield Route 1. She had been in failing health for the past four years
years and had been seriously ill for three months.
A native of Summerfield, Mrs. Carpenter was
the daughter of Newton and Suzanna Meek.
She had resided in Springfield for the past 10 years, and was the widow
of John A. Carpenter, who died in 1926 in Huntsville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M.
Saturday in the Second Church of God, of which she was a member. Burial will be
in Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville. The body was removed to the Richards
Funeral Home, and was returned to the home of the daughter Thursday afternoon.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Duer, in
whose home she died, Mrs. J. C. Keeren, Urbana; Mrs. Clyde Fair and Mrs. Robert
Yoder, both of Springfield; three sons, Frank of Russells Point, and Joseph and
Ray, both Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Will Harsh, Caldwell, O., and Mrs.
Frank Kaylor, Woodsfield, and one brother, Charles Meek of Summerfield. 25 June 1942 Springfield News Springfield

Beulah Keeran, Game Farm Road, died early Wednesday in her residence.
Mrs. Keeran was born April 14, 1893, in
Monroe County, the daughter of John and Anna Meck Carpenter. She was a member
of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. She lived most of her live in
Champaign County.
Mrs. Keeran is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Kenneth (Catherine) Harlan of Circleville and Mrs. Carlos (Carol) Deskins
of Miamisburg; four sons, James and Willard of Ubrana, Roy of Cable and Ralph
of Barberton; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Robert (Louella) Yoder of Springfield and Mrs. David (Frances) Duer of Terre
Haute, and one brother, Roy Carpenter of Ontario, Calif.
Her husband John died in 1960.
Services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in
the Church of Christ in Christian Union, with the Rev. David Vanhoose, pastor
of the church, in charge.
Burial will be in Kingscreek Cemetery.

He was a native of
Woodstock, Ohio, son of the late John C. and Beulah (Carpenter) Keeran. He was
a retired carpenter, was of the Church of the Nazarene faith, and was a veteran
of World War II.
Surviving are his wife,
Opal (Hickerson) Keeran of the home; two sons, one daughter, three brothers,
two sisters, four grandchildren.
The body will be
shipped to Walter-Schoedinger Funeral Home in Urbana, Ohio. Services will be

Relatives
have been notified of the death of William Carpenter, 39, Springfield, which
occurred Tuesday. He was a native of
Monroe county and was a son of the late J. W. Carpenter and Mrs. Anna Meeks
Carpenter. Surviving are his widow; one
daughter; his mother, and several brothers and sisters, all residing in the
Springfield community.
William Carpenter, of Springfield, aged
thirty-nine years, a native of Monroe County and a son of J. W. Carpenter,
deceased, and Anna Meek Carpenter, died recently in a Springfield hospital,
following an operation for appendicitis. Surviving the deceased are his widow
and a daughter, of the home, his mother and several brothers and sisters, all
of the Springfield community. Funeral services and interment took place at
Springfield. Wed. 8 March 1939 Noble County Leader Caldwell Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M.
Thursday in the Christan Church of God, Hillside Ave., for William M.
Carpenter, 39, of 174 Fostoria Ave. Mr. Carpenter died at 3:30 P.M. Monday in
the City Hospital after a two week illness.
The body was taken to the Jackson Funeral
Home and will be removed to the residence Tuesday night. Burial will be made in
Huntsville, O.
A native of Summerfield, O., Mr. Carpenter
had been a Springfield resident 11 years. He was a former state highway
department mechanic and at the time of his death was employed by the W. P.
Johns Oil Co.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of the Church of
God on Hillside Ave.
Surviving are his widow, Clarabel Herring, a
daughter, Mary Cathryn Dever of Springfield, his mother, Mrs. Anna Carpenter,
also of Springfield, and Roy of Huntsville, O., Joseph of Springfield, and
Frank of Russells Point, O., and four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Keeran of Urbana,
and Mrs. Luella Yoder, Mrs. Ethel Fair and Miss Frances Carpenter, all of

Luella B. Yoder, 94, of Springfield, passed
away Sunday, September 20, 1998, at 3:40 A.M. in Community Hospital. She was
born in Summerfield, Ohio on October 24, 1903, the daughter of John and Anna
(Meek) Carpenter. She attended the Hillside Ave Church of God, where she was
active in many areas of the Church. She is survived by three sons and
daughter-in-laws, Robert D, and Katherine Yoder, Wayne E. and Betty Yoder and
Roger L. and Virginia Yoder, all of Springfield; five grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Robert E. Yoder on April 19, 1990; also by four brothers and
three sisters. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. in the
Jackson, Lytle & Ingling Williams Funeral Home, North Limestone Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. from the Hillside Avenue
Church of God, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Rev.
George L. Reed, Rev. O. L. Johnson and Rev. Brent Farmer will officiate. Burial

Robert E. Yoder, 90, of Springfield, died
Thursday, April 19, 1990, at 8:45 A.M. in Heartland of Springfield following
five years of failing health. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on November
3, 1899, the son of John and Ellen (Grady) Yoder. He had been a Springfield
resident since 1910. For twenty-one years, he was a tool maker at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, retiring in 1962. He was a veteran of World
War I, serving in the United States Army. He attended the Hillside Avenue
Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Luella (Carpenter) Yoder, whom he
married on January 2, 1924; three sons, Robert D. of Springfield, Wayne E. of
New Carlisle and Roger L. of Paker City, Indiana; five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; also one niece. He was preceded in death by one daughter
and one brother. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the
Ingling-Williams Funeral Home, Springfield. Funeral services will be held
Monday at 10 A.M. in the Hillside Avenue Church of God, with the Rev. George L.
Reed officiating. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to

He is
