Dr. F. C. Huth
was the founder and president of the Woodsfield Hospital
in 1904. He began his medical practice
in 1893. After 13 years he established
the Woodsfield Hospital on the outskirts of Woodsfield. It was located on the south part of town and
apparently in largely a rural area. The
hospital had its own garden and farm.
Fresh dairy and garden products were raised for the patients. It had 13 rooms and a large bath which could
provide Turkish shower, Russian, vapor, sea, salt or electric baths. It was managed by a matron and boasted a
large nursing staff.
