Death certificate #69252 was issued in Guernsey County, Ohio. Rebecca Mendenhall, was born May 5th, 1824, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Peter Gildow and Christine Rule, both of Pennsylvania. She was a housewife. She lived 89 years, 7 months, and 23 days. The informant was S. C. Van Kirk [her daughter Sarah] of Salesville, Ohio. Dr. W. A. White of Salesville, testified that Rebecca died December 28, 1913, in Salesville, of pneumonia which she had suffered for 12 days. She was buried in Salesville, Dec 31st, 1913.

[ Submitter's Note: Although this indicates that she is married, her husband's name was not listed. That certificate was marked RETURNED. On another certificate stamped COPY in a completely different handwriting is all of the same information plus, under cause of death: Pneumonia and below that bronchopneumonia. The handwriting is not the same, nor is the signature of S.C. Van Kirk which on the COPY says S. C. Kirk.]
