Michael Burkhart (1831-1908) was the son of Frederick J. Burkhart and Margaret Ottilla Burkhart. Michael s wife, Ottilla Zwick was the daughter of Michael Zwick and Katharine Burkhart. Michael immigrated to the United States from Bobenthal, Germany, with his parents and siblings. They sailed from Harve, France and arrived in New York April 22, 1843. Ottilla immigrated from Germany in 1852 . They were married ca 1855 in Monroe County and lived there their entire lives. They are buried in St. John s Catholic Cemetery in Miltonsburg, Monroe County, Ohio.
