Anton Burkhart (1831-1920) and wife Hannah Kuhn (1836-1927) sitting on the porch of the house that Anton built. Anton was born in Bruchweiler, Germany, and immigrated to Monroe County ca 1851 and married Hannah Kuhn in 1854. Hannah Kuhn was born in Lorain, France and immigrated to Monroe County ca 1848. They lived the remainder of their lives in Monroe County and raised fourteen children, many of whom remained in Monroe County.
