One of the truly unique landmarks to be found in Monroe
County is simply known as the Bent Tree.
This land mark
is standing approximately in the vicinity of 49100 Lewisville-Northern Road, in
Summit Township, Monroe County, Lewisville, Ohio and is located on the former
George and Clara Hines farm.
The Bent Tree was formed over 70 years ago by another tree resting on it for some time, while it was
just a sapling in the early 1930s. It
is well known to many of the residents of Monroe County.
It
is located near the Lewisville-Northern Road, township road 18, between Middle
Church cemetery and Monroefield cross roads. The Skin creek road, township road
53 and Egger Ridge Road, township road 61 join together at the
Lewisville-Northern Road near Monroefield. This tree is about a mile before you
get to this intersection at Monroefield.
