Henry Zwick, aged 63 years, passed away Saturday noon at his home in Miltonsburg following an extended illness.

Mr. Zwick was born near Lewisville and resided on a farm there for many years, later buying the Abe Walters farm near Miltonsburg. A few years ago he moved to Miltonsburg where he had since resided.

He was a highly respected citizen and has many friends who are saddened by his death.

 

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hannah Burkhart Zwick; five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Kress, Bridgeport, Mrs. Ben Brubach, Woodsfield; Misses Kathryn, Laura, and Madeline Zwick of the home; two sons, E.A. Zwick, Zanesville, and Franklin Zwick of the home. Four grandchildren, Kathleen and Virgil Kress of Bridgeport, Martha Jane Brubach of Woodsfield, and Eddie Zwick of Zanesville; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa

Smithberger of near Summerfield and Mrs. Katie Schoeppner of near Harrietsville; six brothers, Michael and John Zwick of Lousivlle, Stark County, and George W., Joseph, and Charles Zwick of the Lewisville community, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services were held at St. John's Church, Miltonsburg, 9:00 o'clock Tuesday morning in charge of his pastor, Rev. Drecher. Interment was made in the church cemeter.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

John C. Burkhart, 86, a former resident of Marr, died Friday morning, April 29, 1966, at nine o'clock in Columbus, whee he had been living with his children.

Mr. Burkhart, a retired farmer, was born February 24, 1880, a son of Philip and Catherine Burkhart. His wife, Lizzie, died in 1951.

 

"Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Colletta Ackerman of Columbus; four sons, Harold W. Burkhrt of Columbus, Paul E. Burkhart of Pickerington, Ernest J. Burkhart of Woodsfield, and Orville W. Burkhart of Marr; one sister, Mrs. Clara Siggins of Owensboro, KY; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Three sisters and two brothers are deceased.

 

Friends were received at the Brubach Funeral Home, Summerfield. A Requiem High Mass was solemnized in St. Sylvesters Church at Woodsfield, on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. withMsgr. Robert A. Brown officiating. Burial was in St. Henry's Church Cemetery, at Harriettsville.

Mrs. Amelia E. Biedenbach, Burkhart 83, of Springdale, PA., and formerly of Wheeling, WV, died April 21, in a New Kensington, PA Hospital.

She was born at Burkhart, Ohio, near Lewisville, December 7, 1880, a daughter of Albert and Anna Baker Beidenbach and spent most of her life in Wheeling.

A Catholic, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Burkhart, who died in 1929.

Surviving are a son, Nelson, with whom she resided; one grandson; a brother John B. Biedenbach, Mechanicsville, IA; and three sisters, Misses Ella and Bertha Biedenbach of McConnellsville and Mrs. Felix Miller, Waterford, Ohio.

A retired telephone operator, she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burkhart and the Summerfield Homemakers.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Wheatley, June 23, 1978, and a brother and two sisters.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Curran of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends will be received at the Neff-Brubach Funeral Home, Summerfield, today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM where Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m today. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Burkhart, at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Samuel Saprano and the Rev. Paul McGraw officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Cemetery, Summerfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Curran.

Mrs. Eleanor Zwick, 65, died at nine o clock on Thursday evening, March 30, 1950, at her home in Lewisville, Ohio.

Born in Monroe County, Ohio, she had lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of William and Opeloma Baker.

Surviving are her husband, P. W. Zwick; three sons, Sennen Zwick, of the home; Ural Zwick, of Zanesville, Ohio; and Hugo Zwick, of Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o clock at St. Joseph s Church at Burkbart, Ohio with the Reverend Martin, Carlisle, Ohio, officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery with the Brubach funeral home in charge.

Mr. Burkhart was a retired employee of the Texan Eastern Corporation and a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Woodsfield.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Burkhart and two grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Schaub Burkhart, two sons, Kenneth Burkhart of Jerusalem, and Charles Burkhart of Clarington; one daughter Mrs. Richard (Mary) Logston of Jerusalem; two brothers Orrville Burkhart of Marr, Harold Burkhart of Columbus, one sister, Mrs. Abe (Colletta) Ackerman of Columbu; and four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends were received at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Monday with Mass of Christian Burial to be held Tuesday, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, with Father Vincent Huber, the celebrant. Burial in St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield.

Lillian M. Burkhart, 78, of 135 Maple Avenue, Woodsfield, died 5:35 p.m. March 31, 1993, in the Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio. She was born September 23, 1914, at Woodsfield, a daughter of the late Fred and Belle Shorts Scbaub.

She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, where she was also a member of the Catholic Women s Club.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Burkhart and Charles Burkhart, both of Woodsfield; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Logston of Jerusalem, Ohio; one brother, Eugene Schaub of Woodsfield four grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; several local nieces and nephews including Mrs. Glenn (Juanita) Stalder, Sr. of Sardis, Ohio route and Robert Young of Woodsfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest 1. Burkhart on December 15, 1984; one sister, Margaret Young; one brother, Guy Schaub; two grandsons, Anthony and James Burkhart.

Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield on April 2. Funeral Liturgy with Mass was concelebrated at 11 a.m. April 3 in St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield.. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.

He was a retired farmer and member of St. Henry Catholic Church at Harriettsville, an Army veteran of WWII, a member of Eagle Lodge 2302 Woodsfield, a life member of VFW Post 5303 Woodsfield and DAV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Warner Burkhart; three brothers, Ernest, Harold, and Paul; a grandson.

 

Surviving are two sons, Thomas of Woodsfield and Dwight of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Tyson (Susie) Carpenter of Waynesville, NC., and Mrs. Terry (Clarice) Est of Columbus; a sister Colletta Ackerman of Columbus; five grandchildren.

 

Friends will be received today, 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield. Funderal ligurgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10;30 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, with the Rev. Victor Cinson officiating. Burial follows in St. Henry Church Cemetery with full military graveside services. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
