Salisbury, Gladys Salisbury, nee Morris

Salisbury, Gladys May, age 84, of
Sardis, Ohio passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at OSU Wexner
Medical Center, Columbus, OH.
She was born October 8, 1930 in Monroe
County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dory and Aldy
Wickham Morris.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Edward Salisbury; three brothers and four
sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Edward
(Mary) Salisbury of VA, Clarence (Linda) Salisbury of Sardis, and Larry
Salisbury of Sardis; a daughter, Bessie (Robert) Henry of Paden City; four
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family received friends on Monday at Grisell Funeral Home, Sardis, where funeral services were
held Tuesday, Feb. 10 with Pastor Loren Romick
officiating.
Interment in Unity
Baptist Church Cemetery, Antioch, Ohio.

Jeffery A. Sanders, age 59, of
Waterford, died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh.
He was born October 11, 1955, in Erie, the son of the late Everett and Betty
Gray Sanders. Jeff worked for 11 years as a driver for EMTA Lift in Erie until
he retired in 2013 because of health reasons. He enjoyed spending time with his
grandkids, fishing, and watching football and baseball. Most of all, he simply
liked being at home with his fiancee of six years,
Traci Bedow. Other family members include four
children: Megan Sanders and Katie Sanders, both of Erie, Todd Bedow (Brenda), of Union City, and Jessica Bedow, of Erie; five grandchildren; his brother, Gary
Flynn, of Erie; and his extended family, the Goodenows.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford, on
Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at which time the
funeral service will begin. Pastor Ryan Grafton of the First Baptist Church of Edinboro will officiate.

TELL CITY –
Thomas A. Schaeffer, 89, passed away Nov. 26, 2015, at Perry County Memorial
Hospital.
He was born in Troy April 24, 1926, son
of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Jarboe) Schaeffer.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Mary Snyder; brother, Joseph
Schaeffer; daughter, Rita Dale and grandson, Charles A. Dale.
Tom was a U.S. Air Force veteran,
serving from 1944 through 1946. He was united in marriage on Oct. 22, 1949, in
Mitchell, to Mildred Sturgeon.
Tom was a member of Deep River Church
of Christ in Hobart, where he served as treasurer and Deacon for 23 years. He
was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #20 for 58 years, member of
Independent Order of Foresters and American Legion Post 213. Tom enjoyed
gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years,
Mildred Schaeffer; sons, William Schaeffer (Karen) of Kouts,
and Mark Schaeffer (Bonnie) of Tell City; grandchildren, Jeanne Dale-Freeman,
Shannon Brumfield (Jeff), Sandy Specker (Chris), Sharie Barker (James) and James Bickers (Gina) and 12
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Monday, Nov. 30, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Lilly
Dale Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites. Brother Roy
Sturgeon will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9
a.m. until service time on Monday.

Brenda
Jean (Ward) Schaub, 72 of Jackson Twp., passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015,
following a brief illness.
She was
born March 12, 1943, in Weston, W.Va., the daughter of the late Eugene and Ava
(Cut right) Ward. She was a graduate of McKinley High School. Brenda loved
spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching them in their
sports and school activities.
She is
survived by her husband of 49 years, Vernon J. Schaub; daughters, Kim (Tim)
Lash, Pam (Stan) Sereychas, Kelly Schaub; two
sisters; six brothers; eight grandchildren: Shane and Brooke Lash, Cody, Emily,
and Abigail Decker, Sydney and Stanley Sereychas, and
Breonna Cutts. In addition to her parents she was
preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Decker.
The
family will receive friends and family on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W.,
from 4-6 p.m. Private burial to be held at Sunset Hills at a later date.

Retired
USAF David Allen Schaub Jr. passed away in Tyler, Texas, on Thursday, March 19,
2015 at the age of 44.
David is
survived by wife, Andrea Schaub; children, Wyatt and Rachel, Tyler, Texas;
parents, David A. Schaub Sr.
(Bonnie), and Joan H. Mehaffie (Harvey); sisters, Sherry L. Messer (Gregg);
Shelia A. De Weese, and Tina A. Wells (Steve);
brother/sisters-in-law, Diane Nelson (Byron), Barb Steiner (Larry), and many
nieces and nephews. He is preceded
in death by grandparents, William Thomas, W. W. Schaub Jr. (Clara); and
godparents, John Pfister (Dorothy).
David
was born on Jan. 31, 1971 in Canton, Ohio to David Sr. and Joan. He enlisted in
the USAF after graduating from Manchester HS in 1989. David married Andrea in
1992 then retired from the military in 2009 after 20 years of service.
He was
attending Tyler Junior College and was currently employed as a graphic
designer.
He was a generous individual who loved the
outdoors, home improvement and was passionate about serving others. His
volunteer services include Boy Scouts, ETX Veteran's Memorial Committee, and
teaching art at his children's school. He attended Green Acres Baptist Church.
A
memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at
Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, Texas. Donations may be made to First

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann
Schindler (Ward) died surrounded by her children on November 9, 2015 at the age
of 71.
Betty is survived by her four children,
Sherry Ann Carson (Scott), Alvin Eugene Schindler (Kylie), Lori Marie Garmus (Daniel), and Gregory Alan Schindler; grandchildren,
Matthew (Lindy), Blaine, Haley (John), Ashley (Ian), Jessica, Madison, Sydney,
Mason, Tyler, Taylor, Bentley, Peyton, and six great-grandchildren; her
siblings, Frieda Shepherd (Clyde), James Ward (Joetta),
Thomas Ward (Doris), Nancy Christian, and Ginny Sue Brabban;
and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon Schindler (Renata), Charles
Schindler, Harry Schindler (Lana), Joyce Schindler, Pauline Schindler, and Mary
Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Alvin Schindler;
her siblings, Johnny Ward, Freddy Ward, and Roma Jay Ward; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Hess Schindler, Fritz Schindler, Joanne Schindler, and Bill Brabban.
Betty was born on January 8, 1944 in
McDowell County, W. Va. to Fred and Mabel Ward. After moving to Akron, Betty
began working for Mechanical Industries in Quality Control. She married Alvin
on September 21, 1963. Over nine years, the couple welcomed four children into
their home and they taught them about putting forth their best, trying new
things, working hard and running a business. Betty worked along with her
husband to run several successful businesses over the years including All-Ohio
Trucking. Betty will always be remembered as a kind, loyal and compassionate
mother, sister and friend who provided support and encouragement.
Betty was an active and dedicated
Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed attending meetings and the door to door ministry.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1
p.m. on November 28th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 4620
Mayfair Rd., the family will begin receiving friends
beginning at noon. A reception will follow at the Coventry Oaks pavilion (40 Axline Ave., Akron). All are welcome to attend and
celebrate Betty's life.
The family would like to thank Diana Soccorsi for the love,compassion
and friendship she showed our mother and the many loving medical caregivers for
their efforts and dedication to her care.

24, 2015 Edward Clement Schleappi, age 78, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, February
23, 2015, at his home. He was born August 30, 1936, in Canton, son of the late
Charles and Twila Schleappi.
He was a graduate of Malone College, where he earned a
bachelor’s degree, later earning a master’s degree from the University of
Akron. Mr. Schleappi was a United States Army
veteran, having served in the Korean War. He taught school in Canton, Mineral
City, and Tusky Valley. From 1980-1994, he was
employed by Cambridge City Schools as Director of Special Education, where he
worked closely with the superintendent, and he served in the same capacity for
the East Guernsey School District from 1995-2000. He also taught at Washington
State Community College.
Mr. Schleappi was a lay pastor
who served the Irish Ridge and Lewisville churches, and he filled in at many
churches as needed. He achieved many awards, including being named Teacher of
the Year, earning an Exemplary Service Award from East Guernsey Local Schools,
named Most Valuable Person at Tusky Valley’s Class of
1969’s 40th high school reunion, and recognition for helping establish the
Early Childhood Partnership in 1994.
Ed was a wonderful, loving and caring husband, and a good
father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and gardening, and he owned and
operated the Coffey Knob Orchard, where he made the best cider in a two hundred
mile radius. He enjoyed golfing, playing euchre with friends Rose and Art, and
pampering his wife, Maryellen. He enjoyed reading about the Civil War and
touring its battlefields. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his
wife, Maryellen.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one
son, Scott Schleappi; two brothers, Fred Schleappi and Charles Schleappi,
Jr.; and two sisters, Twila Cooper and Maudleen Host.
Surviving are his wife, Maryellen Wise Schleappi,
the love of his life and soul mate, whom he married August 18, 1990; one
daughter-in-law, Rose Schleappi of Florida; two
step-sons, Michael Sulek of St. Clairsville
and Jeffrey (Beverly) Sulek of Raleigh, North
Carolina; two grandsons, Samuel Schleappi of Wooster
and Jacob Schleappi of Cleveland; one-step-grandson,
Charles (Emma) Sulek of Columbus; two sisters, Fran Houtz of Canton and Janet (Bill) Bedsworth
of Redding, California; two brothers, Dale (Dianne) Schleappi
of Massachusetts and Don Schleappi of Canton; very
dear friends, Dr. Tarlok and Amar Purewal
of Marion; numerous nieces and nephews; and his puppies, Hobo and JoJo.

died February 15, 2015. She was born in Chestnut Ridge, PA, moving to Sebring
in 1961 and was the daughter of the late, Benjamin Franklin and Myrtle Alice
Beam Keller. A member of Sebring Historical Society; Sweet Adelines; a member of First Baptist Church.
Mildred was preceded in death by her
grandson, Ryan Harrison and son-in-law, James Harrison and husband, William
(Bill) Schlosser.
She is survived by Donna Harrison of
Sebring and Carolyn (Ed) Franklin, Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Dustin

Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at her home,
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born near Woodsfield, Ohio on
October 14, 1924 a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Paulus Schumacher.
Mildred was a retired clerk at the
former Economy Store, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield Ohio,
where she was a member of the St. Francis Society and the Catholic Women's
Club.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by five sisters, Agnes Burkhart, Stella Spangler, Marie
Schumacher, Alfreda Smithberger,
and Louise Schumacher; and a brother, Edmund Schumacher.
Surviving are several nieces,
nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Paul Weisend Schumacher, 92, of
Venice, FL, passed away at his home in Venice, Florida on April 24. 2015. He was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in
Woodsfield.
He attended both Kent State, as well as Akron University
and graduated from: Worsham College in Chicago - the
Ohio School of Banking at Ohio University - and the Stonier Graduate School of
Banking at Rutgers University.
While attending the Stonier Graduate School, his thesis on
“Truth in Lending” was accepted at the Harvard Business Library, Rutgers
University Library and is currently housed at the Library of Congress in
Washington, DC.
Paul served in the US Marine Corps during World War II as a
Navigator - Bombardier. He flew 53
combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Silver
Star and the Air Medal with two Gold Stars.
His career path in finance
began in Alliance, Ohio and eventually to First American Bank in Arlington,
Virginia - where he earned the position of Executive Vice President.
Throughout his life, Paul was very active in business and
social activities. He was a former
Director of both the Arlington and Fairfax, Virginia
Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Arlington Kiwanis Club. He was one of the founding Directors of the
Fairfax Crime Stoppers and was a member of the Fairfax Country Club. Paul was a charger and life member of the VFW
in Woodsfield, -
Life member of the 3rd and 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus - and an
honorary member of the Ahepa in northern
Virginia.
Upon retirement in 1985, he and his surviving wife (Kay)
moved to Venice, Florida. For the
remainder of his life, he was an active member of the Plantation Golf &
Country Club in Venice.
For the past 49 years, Paul has been a lector at St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church in Northern Virginia and our Lady of Lourdes Catholic
Church in Venice. Paul is survived by
his wife, Kay, after 70 years of marriage.
He is also survived by his son John and grandson Nikelas,
both of Perrysburg, Ohio; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and
great-great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes in
Venice on Friday, May 8th at 1 PM with interment at the Veterans Cemetery in
Sarasota, FL. Farley Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.

Cheryl Ann Scott (Malay), age 68,
passed away in her home on June 17, 2015, finally able to rest after her long
illness with cancer since 2009. A parishioner of St. Mary's of Massillon, OH
and St. Colman's of Turtle Creek, PA, Cheryl was a lifelong Roman Catholic. She
is preceded in death by her father, Charles Malay, and her in-laws, James and
Lottie Scott. She is survived by her mother, Lucy Malay; her husband of nearly
48 years, Marlin Scott; their children Angela and Ron Manes, and James and Lisa
(Mealback) Scott; and their grandchildren Bryonna and Nikk Manes, and
Sebastian, Olivia, and Wyatt Scott; as well as many beloved cousins. She is
also survived by her family of friends built over the years from card clubs,
neighborhoods, and her employment at Citizens Savings/First Merit Bank.
While a humorous source of family
tension at times, Cheryl brought her hometown love of the Steelers with her to
Ohio. She and her husband enjoyed healthy
doses of gambling and golfing in their time together and she spent hours
transforming their backyard into a haven of flowers and vegetables for all to
enjoy.
Cheryl's life was filled with beauty
she created for her family and friends. Always one to give homemade gifts, she
searched for opportunities to make everyone feel special. She took her
handicrafts to the business level and enjoyed selling at craft shows and boutiques. Stark County is filled with her arts
and crafts and she was always a supporter of the Jackson School for the Arts.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00
p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Reed's Funeral Home on Pittsburg Rd. in North
Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic
Church of Massillon 206 Cherry St. NE on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
with Father Edward Gretchko officiating. Interment
will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

She was born in Cambridge, Ohio, on
December 30, 1950 a daughter of the late Harmon and Thelma Kuhn Scott.
Debra was a former secretary and was
a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Scott and three brothers, James, Jerry,
and Michael Scott.
Surviving are three sisters; Charlene
Lenser of Westlake, Ohio, Janet Johnson of Croton,
Ohio, Nancy Williams of Ostrander, Ohio, four brothers; Franklin Scott of
Westerville, Ohio, Richard Scott of Columbus, Ohio, Gene Scott, and Phillip

Carl B. Secrest, 86, of
Beallsville, Ohio died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the Woodsfield Nursing and
Rehab Center. He was born June 21, 1928 near Centerville, Ohio, a son of the
late Herbert and Mamie Ward Secrest.
Carl was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a
retired dozer operator in area strip mines for many years. He was a member of

Woodsfield, Joyce (Tim) Caldwell, and Marvin (Misty) Secrest,
both of Beallsville; nine grandchildren, Courtney (Keith) Kresge,
Christopher (Erica) Caldwell, Stephanie (Al) Novena, Steve (Anne) Kirklan, Bryan (Suzy) Kirkland, Sarah (Matt) Tippie, Dustin Kirkland, Stacia,
and Dalton Secrest; seven great grandchildren, Ethan,
Haley, Ellie, Lucy, Claire, Carson, and Mya; one brother, Cecil (Teresa) Secrest and one sister, Joann Marr, both of Canton.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 PM until 8 PM at
the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 AM at East Sunsbury Baptist Church near Beallsville where family and
friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial follows in
Beallsville Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 768. In

was born January 19, 1932 in Senecaville, Ohio a son
of the late Lee & Avis Cochran Sexton.
He retired from Alside Inc. in
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio with 37 years of service, was a U.S. Army veteran, and a
member of the Pine Street Church of Christ in New Martinsville, West Virginia.
Preceded in death by one brother; Lee, and three sisters;
Ida, Elizabeth, and Amy.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years; Marie Reder Sexton of Woodsfield, two brothers; Bob Sexton of
Ocala, Florida, and Dave Sexton of Bidwell, Ohio, and one sister; Naomi Ritchie
of Clinton, Ohio, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and
nephews.

Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Genesis Health Care Center, New Martinsville,
WV. She was born May 1, 1934 in Monroe County, OH, a daughter of the late
Thurman Alva and Martha Caroline Kernen Smith. She
was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of God, Duffy, OH. Freda
babysat a total of 62 kids, not counting grandkids and loved to sew, quilt, and
garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a
brother, Clarence Smith, a sister, Ella Richter and two brothers in law, Ralph
Richter and Ken Beck.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Chester Schafer;
three daughters, Sharon Ann (Carl) Jackson of Westerville, OH, Kathy (Kyle) Romick of Milford, OH, and Charlotte (Loren) Romick of Sardis, OH; two brothers, Charles (Betty) Smith

on February 29, 1948, daughter of the late Irvin and Bernice Wilson Speidel.
Lynn was an employee of Rescare Voca Corporation and was
dedicated to her work for 29 years and was an SEIU District 1199 member. She
was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Shafer and a sister, Audrey Lee.

Harry D. Shafer, 79, formerly of Beallsville, died,
December 31, 2015 in the Arbors at Woodsfield. He was born October 17, 1937,
near Woodsfield, a son of the late Isaac and Verla
Dougherty Shafer.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; a retired
employee of the former Conalco plant near Hannibal,
Ohio; a member of the Beallsville United Methodist Church and American Legion
Post #768.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by
an infant brother, Larry; a sister, Norma Jean King; also his wife, Dorothy
Riley Kuhn Shafer on October 6, 2015.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jodi
Shafer of Woodsfield; a sister, Marlene (Vernon) Reusser
of Massillon; three grandchildren, Coleten, Caylie, and Chloe Shafer; a step-grandson, Zachary
Gillespie.

She is preceded in death by her

Patty was a 1966 graduate of Fostoria
High School. She later worked for Kuss Filtration for
21 years. She was a member of the UAW& St. Wendelin
Catholic Church.
Patty loved to cook, read and do her
crafts. She had a great heart and was passionate about the things that she
believed in. She never met a stranger. She was a true conversationalist who
loved talking with people from all walks of life. She loved serving others and
will be greatly missed.

Mae Irene Shoemaker-Howard-Robinson, was born on May 19, 1929 to Thelma and Francis
Robinson, she was married to Robert D. Howard Sr. in 1947 and they divorced in
the late 60's, they had 8 children together. She was preceded in death by her
husband of 37 years Marion Shoemaker. Mae moved to Phoenix, from Akron, Ohio in
her teens, graduating from Phoenix Union High School. She always enjoyed
adventures, especially with her children visiting ghost towns, mines, racing
her station wagon at Beeline and PIR dragstrips and hunting for rare books and
bottles. Being a dancer, singer and musician were a number of things she enjoyed.
She instilled strong moral values in her children, her word was her bond. She
survived thyroid cancer in the early 60's and went on to help others including
doing a number of Hypoglycemia workshops. She devoted her early life to
Roosevelt Girl Scout Council, Most Holy Trinity Catholic church, playing the
organ on Sundays, setting up their first library, preparing the altar cloths
and vestments. Never one to stay on one adventure too long, she loved living in
Cordes Lakes and venturing out as usual and being an
avid animal lover. She wrote several books and was published under the alias
Merlin Arthur.
She is survived by all of her 8
children, Robert D. Howard Jr., Greg (Edie) Howard, Jerald M. Howard, Dennis
Howard, Diane (Steve) Hillis, David Howard, Debra Fenwick (Walt Cummins) and
Lisa (Tim) Thomas. She has 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5
great-great grandchildren.

went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 3, 2015. She was born
April 11, 1924 at Seven Pines, a daughter of the late Richard D. and Dessie L.

She was a loving wife, mother, and
grandmother. She loved her home and family but most of all she loved spending
time with her great granddaughters, Abagail, Madison, and Kennedy. She
graduated from Mannington High School. She worked at Westinghouse Electric
Corp., was a member of the Veterans Association, retiring in 1981 with 35 years
of service. She was a member of the Baptist Temple Church in Fairmont.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda

of New Martinsville, WV died March 9, 2015. “Free” was born August 10, 1974 in
Sistersville, WV, son of the late Benjamin Simpkins.
He was a truck driver and he loved martial arts, weight
lifting and hanging out with his sons.
Surviving are his mother, Charlotte Simpkins of Clarington,

Tell City,
Ind. -- Franklin T. "Frank" Simpson, 89, passed away February 24,
2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He was born in Tell City on December
31, 1924. His parents were the late William and Bertha (Jarboe)
Simpson. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy (Webb) Simpson;
brothers, Leo, Ralph, Paul and Owen Simpson and sisters, Catherine Mansfield
and Agnes Elder.
Frank was a member of St. Paul Catholic
Church, Knights of Columbus #1172 and enjoyed playing golf.
He retired from Tell City National Bank
in 1988, where he was senior vice president and trust officer. An experienced
banker, he had spent his entire working career at Tell City National, joining
the bank after serving his country in the United States Army. In 1959, he was
made vice president and cashier and in 1961, was named vice president and trust
officer. He had served as secretary to the board. A 1962 graduate of The
Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and a former member
of the IBA Trust Committee, he had been active in professional and community
organizations during his 30 years with TCNB.
Frank was past president of Tell City
Public Library, past treasurer of Knights of Columbus, National Trustee of
Catholic Knights of America, was a member of American Legion Post #213 and
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2939 and past member of Loyal Order of Moose,
Hoosier Heights Country Club, Tell City Jaycees, past president of Tell City Kiwanis,
and past president of Perry County Chamber of Commerce. In 1959, he received
the Jaycees' Distinguished Service Award and in 1965, he received the Boss of
the Year Award.
Surviving are his daughters, Karen Daum, Maple Grove, Minnesota, Connie Grabert,
of Evanville [sic–Evansville], Indiana and
Lisa Fowler, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; a son, Tom Simpson, of New Carlisle,
Ohio; ten grandchildren, Brandon Daum, Gina Williams,
Stephanie Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Christopher Simpson, Jessica Rawden, Lauren Grabert, Alexander
Grabert, Cameron Fowler and Brooke Fowler; three
great-grandchildren, Olivia Williams, Stella Williams and Connor Daum.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in
St. Mary's Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate. Visitation will be from 3

Brady Eugene Smith, age 89, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away
Saturday January 17, 2015 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab. Center Woodsfield.
Born June 27, 1925 in Woodsfield, a son of Brady Clement Smith and
Bessie Nina Holmes Smith, also to this union was born Thelma Ellene Smith March 29, 1934. Bessie Nina Smith died June 24, 1934 and
Brady Clement Smith died July 27, 1954.
Brady graduated from the Woodsfield Grade School in1940, and went to Woodsfield
High School and finished his junior year, then enlisted in the United States
Marine Corps at age 17 on May 23, 1943.
Brady went to boot camp at Parris
Island, SC. He served at Cherry Point,
NC, Oak Grove, NC, Jacksonville, FL, and graduated from aviation school at
Memphis, TN in June 1944 and also graduated from aircraft engine school in
Norman, OK, in 1944. He was also stationed at Mirimar,
and Santa Barbara, CA, with a fighter and bomber squadron (234). He was a crew chief for the rest of his
service in the Marine Corps on TBF bombers aboard three air craft carriers, USS.Vella Golf 111 receiving one battle star, the USS Badoing Straight CVE 116, and the USS Saidor
CVE 117. He had trained at Mojove Marine Corps Base for carrier duty and went to Naval
Fire Fighters School at North Island in San Dago. He made four bombing raids on
Roto and Three bombing raids on Pagan with our F4U
Corsairs and TBF Torpedo Avenger Bombers.
From there we went back to Guam for ammunition and bombs and went on to
Okinawa and flew cover for the third fleet under command of Admiral William
Halsey. He was in the first invasion
fleet to take the Island of Japan named Olympic. He went to Sagoma
Bay South of Tokyo and went ashore at Yokohoma in
LST’s Sept. 9, 1945 and went to Tokyo Bay on Sept. 10, 1945. When with war was over he had logged 50,000
miles in the Pacific Ocean. After the
war he went back to Pearl Harbor and trained new pilots and crews off the east
coast of Hawaii. Brady was discharged May 22, 1946. After the war he went to
Ohio State University and received his GED Diploma in 1946.
Brady used his four years
from the government for flying lessons at the old airport on West 78 till he
had 50 hrs flying time in, and then flew over to
Aldermen Air Field at St. Clairsville, Ohio and took
his flying test and passed and received his plot certificate from civil
aeronautics and administration Washington D.C.
Brady’s last fight was in 2009.
Brady was married to Mary Louise Stackpole by J.VA Traylor on Eastern Ave. March 4,
1947. His faithful wife went to her Lord
and Savior April 21, 2011 after 64 years of love and happiness, and was blessed
with three children; James Ronald Smith Sr., who passed away June 11, 1987,
Julie Lynne Smith Schwab of Peachtree City, Georgia and Jean Lynette Smith of
Milford, Ohio, five grandchildren Lt. Col. James R. Smith Jr. of Houston,
Texas, Sherry Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Fayetta Lee
Wellman of Phoenix, Arizona, Timothy Schwab of Nashville, Tennessee, and David
Lee Schwab of Peachtree City, Georgia, four great grandchildren; Paul Brady
Schwab, Andrew James Smith, Cortney Lynn Smith, and Gillian Wellman.
Brady and Mary Louise were baptized
by Elmer Taylor at a Gospel meeting at Cameron on October 12, 1950, they were faithful members of the Woodsfield Church of
Christ all their lives and Brady has served as Deacon from 1979. In the early 50’s and 60’s Brady spoke at
several churches such as Rich Fork, Clarington, Hines Chapel, Hartshorn Ridge, Mechanicsburg, Ozark and at the home
congregation at Woodsfield. He also was
a song leader for 34 years, and severed as a Deacon in charge of World Bible school for over 32 years and wrote 171 articles for the
church bulletin.

C. Patrick "Pat" Smith was killed on June 16,
2015 in an automobile accident.
Born in Barnesville, Ohio he
was the son of the late Charles V. and Jean Wilkins Smith. He was a graduate of
Barnesville High School and a 1972 graduate of Ohio University, before
beginning a career in directing TV and productions that spanned over 30 years.
In 2010, after the loss of his beloved first wife, Patricia
M, he reconnected with a lifelong friend who had suffered a similar loss. He
and Lenane were married on February 7, 2011 and soon
returned to their Ohio roots.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Lenane
(Nan Shepherd) of S. Vienna, son, Tim (Courtney) and grandchildren, Patrick,
Benjamin, and Katelynn of Lewisville, Texas. A sister, Becky
(Bradley) Hammond of Welland, Ontario and niece,
Katie and nephews, John and Andrew (Michelle) Hammond. A special aunt,
Marjorie Dennin of Barnesville also survives.
Also saddened by his loss are his wife's children, Amanda
(Rob) Shaffer and grandchildren, Sam, Jack, and Anna of Springfield; Ed
(Jonathan) Shepherd of Columbus; Patrick (Leigh Ann) Shepherd and their
children, Sophia, Nora, Jane, and Betsy (Tyson) Yirak
and sons - Thatcher and Turner of Marysville. Sister and
brother-in-law, Marie and Phil Erfort and
mother-in-law, Mary Majewski of Gun Barrel City,
Texas and brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Alicia Turner of Mansfield, Texas.
Pat never met a stranger! His professional reputation was
one of a consummate perfectionist, "the best in the biz." To his
family and friends, he was kind, compassionate, and always a gentleman. He is
sorely missed!

Bob retired from the Evansville
Carpenters Union. He was a member of Troy Methodist Church and he enjoyed cars
and meeting his buddies at McDonald's.

She was born July 25, 1941, in Ravenna,
Ohio, to parents James Adam and Sarah Margret (Echoff)
Adelman. Sarah was a devoted homemaker and also retired from Jet Rubber in
Rootstown. Sarah loved crocheting and spending time with her family. She also
enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and riding her horses.
She is survived by her beloved husband
of 54 years, Clifford I. Stackpole. Clifford had to
secretly escort "Mike" to Tennessee for their wedding on June 10,
1961. Sarah is also survived by her children: Ricky (Ruth) Stackpole,
Donna (Russell) Gill, Cynthia (Chet) McCoy, Ross (Vicki) Stackpole,
and Cliffard* G. Stackpole;
her brothers: George (Cleo) Adelman, James (Linda) Adelman, William (Kathy)
Adelman, and John (Julia) Adelman; as well as her sisters: Betty (Jan) Schoonfield, Rose Miller, Rena (Tom) Chaney, and Anna (Don)

April 29, 1944.
Wilma
was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church. She was a homemaker devoted to
taking care of her home and family.

Terry "Toad" Stowe, age 58,
of New Franklin, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, in Aultman
Hospital. He was born July 17, 1956, in Alliance to Robert and Frances
(Willard) Stowe.
He was a tree cutter for Logsdon Tree
Service and had worked as an auto mechanic. His passion was lawn tractors,
maintaining them and taking them to tractor pulls. He was a member of the FOE
Aerie 2174 in Alliance.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years,
Shirley (Carter) Stowe, whom he married in 1984; five children, Tom (Summer)
Fritz of Damascus, Rick (Teresa) Farmer of Alliance, Shane (Melissa) Hoover of
East Rochester, Dawn (Thomas) Kinsey of Augusta, and Jackie (Bobby) Lee of
Canton; sister-in-law, Sharon Stowe of New Franklin; 10 grandchildren and two
great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Stowe.

David Willard Strauch, 80, went
home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2015. He was born, August 27, 1935, in
Glen Dale, West Virginia, to the late Willard and Virginia (Yoho) Strauch.
Dave was a 1953 graduate of Beallsville High School. He
served 6 years in the Ohio National Guard. He earned his associate’s degree in
Engineering from DeVry. David was involved in countless research projects
during his 40 years at Battelle. He was a longtime member of Madison Christian
Church and enjoyed golfing, playing poker, and traveling. He was also a
frequent patron of Waffle House.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his
first wife, Donna Joan (Williamson) Strauch. Dave is
survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna June (Cook) Strauch;
daughter, Kimberly Strauch; numerous nieces, nephews,
and cousins; best friend, Paul Detrich; brothers and
sisters in law; and many dear friends.
Visitation was held January 3rd and 4th at the Schoedinger East Chapel, Columbus. Funeral service were held January 5th at Madison Christian Church,
Groveport, Ohio with Pastor Paul Barnes officiating.
Burial will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

Rittman, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Sanctuary Health Network (formerly
Magnolia) in Wadsworth.
He was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Columbus,
to the late Andrew and Imogene (Steen) Stuff and lived in Rittman most of his
life.
Jack graduated from Rittman High School
in the class of 1951 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He
married Andrea Fiber on March 7, 1959; she preceded him in death in 2011.
He was employed by Ohio Central
Telephone Co. (Sprint United) for 43 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member
of Communication Workers of America and former member of the F.O.E. in Wooster.
He enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, watching old movies and World War II
documentaries.
Surviving are sons, Rex Stuff of
Rittman and Ryan (Krista) Stuff of Seville; daughter, Heidi Stuff of Rittman;
grandchildren, Brennan and Jordan Kruk and Jackson and Griffin Stuff; and many
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.

Thomas Earl Stull, 69, of Marietta,
Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Marietta, Ohio, a son of
the late Warren Harley and Goldie Ruth (Holland) Stull.
Tom worked for Carr
Concrete and was a Protestant by faith. He was a United States Army veteran
having served in the Vietnam War. His passions were the outdoors, his
grandkids, and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed.
He is survived by his wife, Anna
(McClure) Stull; two daughters, Angela Sams (James)
of Marietta, Ohio, and Monica Hanning (Eric) of Pt.
Pleasant, W.Va.; a son, Thomas William Stull (Dannelle)
of New Matamoras, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alex (Amanda), Gage, Brayden,
Thomas and Viola; four great grandchildren, Phoenix, Athena, Mikey and Tiffany;
two sisters, Alda Cameron and Beverly Hendricks, both
of Marietta, Ohio; and a brother, Michael Stull of Marietta.
In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by his brother Gary Stull; and other family members, Robert
Cameron and John Haught.
A Memorial Service will be 4 p.m.
Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with military honors by American
Legion Post 15. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
on Monday. Tom's remains will be inurned at Ohio Western Reserve National
Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

Born on December 27, 1929 to Donald and Mildred (nee: Kysor)
Ballou in Sullivan, OH. Phyllis was very artistic and loved making crafts. She
was an Art Teacher in Lebanon Schools, initiated and worked in Art and Craft
Program at the Otterbein Home in Lebanon and other retirement communities. She
approached artistic endeavors with passion and exemplary talent. Her greatest
joy was her love for her Lord, Jesus, her children and their children, and
causing smiles and laughter with her quick wit and quirky sense of humor.
Preceded in
death by her parents, her husband, Wendell Suffron
and one brother, Merle Ballou. She is survived by her son, Don Dilgard, two daughters, Ann Lawson (Jack) and Linda Dew
(Stephen), 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

12th, 6-7:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following, all at the
Otterbein-Lebanon United Methodist Church. Reverends David Schooler and Barbara

Michael J. Sukey,
Jr. passed away peacefully Thursday, December 10, 2015, surrounded by his
family. Michael was born in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of Ohio.
He enjoyed Lake Erie and deep sea
fishing. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Michael served
as an officer in VFW Post #9340 and previously at VFW Post #3341, where he was
a two time white hat commander and quartermaster.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Michael J. and Estelle G. (nee Hoag) Sukey;
father-in-law, John J. Becker; brother-in-law, Lawrence A. (Karen) Becker and
sister-in-law, Kay (Joseph) Becker.
Michael is survived by his wife,

Dude was born March 12, 1935 to Stouthton and Fredia Surface in
Indianapolis. He enjoyed fishing, boating, horseshoes, poker, woodworking and
gardening. He loved going to Florida.

Patrick Todd Tallman of Southbury, Connecticut passed away
on the morning of April 28 after battling ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s
Disease) for almost seven years. Todd was born in Barnesville Hospital
on May 3, 1968.
He graduated from Woodsfield High School Class of 1986, and
The Ohio State University Class of 1992 with a degree in Economics.
Todd is survived by his parents Glenn and Pat Tallman of
Woodsfield, brother Bart Tallman of Columbus, wife Amy
and children Kaitlyn, Christian and Caleb of Southbury, Connecticut.
Todd was an avid bicyclist and mountain climber - riding the
Silver Mines in Colorado, the Bear Tooth Mountains in Montana and climbing Mt.
Washington in New Hampshire.
An informal gathering of his friends was held Friday, May 1
in Southbury, Connecticut in his honor. In memory of Todd he would be very

Eileen will be remembered by

of the Church of Nazarene, Woodsfield, Ohio and was a loving wife, mother, and
grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Taylor on January 14, 2009; five sisters, Almina Raitz,
Miriam Sutter, Naomi Wilder, Ruth Ida Moore and Dorothy Christina Lacy; two

Margaret Lynn Taylor (Easterling),
46-years-young, of Lake County, Florida, went home to heaven on August 14,
2015, at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares. After her valiant fight with Cancer
for over two years, God called her home. Her strong will to live, faith in God,
and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters, especially
her own mother, carried her through months of grueling radiation &
chemotherapy. Yet even throughout her own struggle with Cancer, she loved
caring for and spending time with her family & friends, especially her
grandchildren.
Margaret was a truth talkin, prayer givin, boot wearin, straight shootin, bible toten, Jesus lovin country girl,
through and through. Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even
total strangers, some may be surprised to learn of the shyness of her youth.
Yet even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense
of humor. Throughout her life she maintained her strong and simple demeanor
that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of determination and
joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will
never be forgotten.
Margaret was a strong willed mother to her 6 beautiful children, she
proved time and time again, no matter what obstacles got in her way, she was
going to make it. She was a single mother for most of her children’s lives. She
gave up so much for her children, always striving to provide their every need.
She could be tough but she also had a soft spot. She absolutely loved caring
for her grandbabies and spending whatever time she could with them and her
family. She adored animals, she had horses and dogs,
even squirrels, and potbelly pigs. She enjoyed being in the woods and outdoors,
and absolutely loved music.
Margaret was born on January 10, 1969
in Collins, Mississippi to Russell and Oma Lee Easterling. Margaret is survived
by her momma, Oma Lee Boyd, her children, Kristen Burger and husband Jonathan
Burger, Keith Stumbaugh and Melissa McNeely, Jackie Stumbaugh and Benny Evans, Brian Round and Merissa Dick,
Ronald “Brody” Round and Chancey Mullins, and Jessica
Chapman – respectively. She was a grandmother to 6; Matthew, Hannah, Brian “Junior”, Christopher, Harlee Fae,
Maci Lynn, and two additional on the way. The youngest of 4 beautiful children,
Margaret is also survived by her sisters –Patty Welch and Nancy Lack, and
brother, Rusty Easterling– whom still live with their spouses – Doug, Steve,
and Mary Donna, respectively – in different areas of Margaret’s home state of
Mississippi.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service
will be held at First Baptist Church, Tavares, led by Pastor Justin Burger,
located at 124 N. Joanna Ave., Tavares, Florida 32778, on Saturday, August 29,
2015 at 2:00 pm.

lengthy illness on January 20, 2015, at the University of
Pittsburgh Medical Center. She was born March 15, 1972, in Marietta to the late

Jen was a 1990 graduate of Skyvue
High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Marietta College and
Master’s Degree from Wright State University.
She had been employed at the Department of the Treasury in Parkersburg
in the bonds department.
In addition to her mother and friend Herman Zerger of Woodsfield, Jen is survived by a sister Kelly
(Thomas) Camden of Marietta and niece Stephanie Camden. Special aunts Hazel Day of Stafford and Susan

Kimberly (Donovan) Masteller-Dodrill of Kansas City

Underwood, Jack Wilson Jr., age 62, of New Martinsville,
WV, formerly Cameron Ohio , died Monday, November 16,
2015 at his home. He was born May 18, 1953 at Wetzel County, the son of the
late Jack Underwood and Ruth (Shreve) Underwood Furbee.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of the Church of the
Nazarene in Woodsfield, OH; and American Legion Post 28, New Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
step dad, Samuel Furbee; and a sister, Elma Jean Butcher.
Survivors include a son, Jack (Lacy Richter) Underwood III of New Martinsville;
two daughters, Chasity (Ronnie Nelson) Underwood of Woodsfield, Ohio and
Jillian Barr of Pine Grove, WV; a brother, Dave (Sheryl) Furbee
of Groveport, OH; three sisters, Jackie (Ron) Jim of Jacksonville, FL, Laura
Ann Easen of Rockledge, FL, and Penny (Al) Furbee Werner of Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews;
and three grandchildren, Lacie Underwood, Richard Fackler Jr. and Vickie Fackler.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family in
Cameron Cemetery, Cameron, Ohio. A family gathering will be held Sunday

Franklin “Frank” Everett Vanwy,
85 of Sebring Florida, beloved husband to Gloria and loving father to Okey Vanwy of Clearwater Florida
and Lorrie Rockwell of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away April 29, 2015, at
Highlands Regional Hospital of Sebring.
He was a grandfather of four and great grandfather of
three; brother of Myron Vanwy of Sebring, Florida and
Helen Peterson of Louisville, Ohio and uncle and great uncle to many nieces and
nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Clayton Vanwy and Alice (Cline) Vanwy, grandson Jason
Paxton, brother Roy, and sister Violet
Williams.
Funeral services were conducted May 1, 2015 at 11:00 am in
the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Burial was in Sunset Hills Burial Park.

She was an Alumni of Center Grove High School, loved to sew and she was a
family and Johnson county historian. She was a member of Mount Pleasant
Christian Church and a Daughter of the American Revolution. She enjoyed crafts,
gardening, baking and most of all was a devoted wife and mother. She is
survived by her children, Virginia "Ginger" (Joe) Rodriguez, Janet
(Kirby) South, David (Kathy) Walls and Robert Michael "Mike" (Linda)
Walls; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grand children;
sister of Bob Dewbrew, Mary Quintanilla, Thelma Frye,
Clint Dewbrew, Corene
Surface and George Dewbrew. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Clinton Walls; and siblings, Georgia Dewbrew
and Clyde Dewbrew. Visitation will be on Tuesday,
February 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood

Mary Louise Weaver, 89, of Springfield,
formerly of Grovespring, died Wednesday evening, July
15, 2015, at her home in Springfield.
She was born April 25, 1926, in
Sapulpa, Okla. to Harry and Sarah Kinkaid Ballard.
On Aug. 9, 1947, she married Rev.
Ernest Everett Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Ernest, on Sept. 25, 2005; four daughters, Irene Johnson,
Ruth Sharline Weaver, Shiren
Kay Weaver, and Louise Washburn; two brothers, Buck Ballard and James Walter
Ballard; and four sisters, Lois King, Lovie Still, Dorothy Brickey,
and an infant sister.
Mary was always a devoted homemaker to
her husband and family and was also a supportive minister's wife. She worked as
a seamstress for the Alliance, then Rice Stix Factory and eventually for H.D.
Lee Company for a number of years.
Mary Louise Weaver made her profession
of faith in Christ early in her life and was always active in the churches
where Ernest was serving as minister.
Survivors include three daughters,
Shirley Ballard, of Lebanon; Kathy Angst and her husband, Doug, of
Phillipsburg, and Awana Weaver, of Lebanon; four
sons, Everett Weaver and his wife, Lola, of Springfield; Dean Weaver and his
wife, Chris, of Niangua; Ernest Greg Weaver and his wife, Bonnie, of Grovespring, and Clifford Weaver and his wife, Michelle, of
Grovespring; 30 grandchildren, a number of
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Ballard, of
Mount Vernon; a sister, Fannie Buttram and her
husband, Bill, of Springfield, also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mary Louise Weaver
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2015, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home
of Lebanon with Brother Tony Jennings and the Rev. Tim Blankenship officiating.

Dale R. Webb, 79, was born June 20, 1936 in Wheeling, WV to
William C. and Carrie I. Webb of Cameron, OH.
He died December 11, 2015 at Westwood Assisted Living Facility in
Woodsfield, OH, where he was recovering from a stroke.
Dale was a lifelong resident of Monroe
County and had made his home in Hannibal, OH.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served the military at Fort
Hood, TX. He was married in 1963 to
Rhonda McKelvey of Clarington, OH. The marriage ended in divorce in 1982. He was employed by Conalco
Aluminum Corp for the majority of his employment and was now retired from Conalco.
He was preceded in death by his
father, William C. Webb; his mother, Carrie I. Webb and his sister, Billie Jean
Ady.
He is survived by his former wife, Rhonda Webb of Marietta,
OH; two daughters, Renae Lee Rigsby
of Wayne, WV and Rayna Dee Wittebort of Huntington,
WV; four grandchildren, Anthony Rigsby, Tyler Rigsby, Gage Wittebort and Shayla
Wittebort; two nieces, Vivian Dillon and Pamela Ensinger and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Emma Merrill 97, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at her home in Petaluma, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Webber, 1992, her son John
Webber, 1963 and her daughter Mary Webber, 2000.
She is
survived by her son James Webber Jr, daughter Laura Pierce, granddaughter Emma
Logan and grandson Will Pierce.
Smart,
inquisitive and energetic, Emma lived a life of many adventures; from being the
youngest child of Missionary parents in Burma, growing up in the Fanny Doane Home in Granville, Ohio, to capturing the heart of
her handsome adventurer, Jim Webber. Married in 1939, they moved out West to
Oregon, taught flyers in the Army Air-Corps during World War II, started Webber
Air Service in Ketchikan, Alaska, after the war, and moved to Terrace BC,
Canada in the 50s to start Webber Lumber Co. Ltd. By this time, they had four
children and raised them to be independent individuals. Leaving BC for
California after Jim's debilitating illness; Emma attended UC Berkeley to
finish her degree and earn a teaching certificate. A popular teacher at
Petaluma High School from 1962 - 1972, Emma retired so she and Jim could start
a final adventure together; building their dream home in Tingambato,
Michoacan, Mexico. After Jim's death, Emma focused on
her art of making braided rugs and hooked wall hangings.
A friend and mentor to so many; a Celebration
of Emma's life is scheduled for Saturday 1:00-5:00 p.m., October 24th, 2015.

She was born in Sistersville, West
Virginia, on December 20, 1941, a daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Sargent
Powell.
She was a former dietary aide at the Woodsfield Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was a member of the Brownsville
United Methodist Church, Brownsville, Ohio. Judy enjoyed her computer, four
wheeling, square dancing, horseback riding, and was a serious card player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a
brother, Herbert "Pete" Rambeau.
Surviving are her husband, Ray Weddle whom she married on
January 14, 1974; one daughter, Kim (Kevin) Safreed
of Antioch, Ohio; one son Johnny (Dana) Weddle of Austin, Texas; one sister,

George Moore. On June 15, 1968 she married Robert F. Weekley
who preceded her in death on March 17, 1990.

Mrs. Weekley
had worked for the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company as a cashier in West Union.
She obtained her LPN thru United Technical
Center and had worked for Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. Kathryn was a
member of the Morgan's Run United Brethren Church.

Maxine was a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as Relief Society President; she
was also Primary and Young Women’s President. Maxine loved to read scripture
and listen to church music but most of all loved her grandchildren.

67, of Marietta, died March 27, 2015 peacefully in hospice care. Rich was born
April 9, 1947 in Barnesville, to Neil and Marge Weisend.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Rich was a member of VFW Post 5108, American Legion Post 54, Masons and
Shriners. He was also an avid Buckeye fan.
Rich enjoyed spending time
with his children Cassie (Lisa Currutt) Weisend and Brian (Mandy) Weisend;
grandchildren Aiden, Addie and Jax; brother Bob
(Irene) Weisend; sisters Jan (Alan) Hunt, Doris

Erie, passed away at the Ball Pavilion at Brevillier
Village, on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Born in Erie,
on March 2, 1957, she was a daughter of Louis and Rita (Magee) Brown, of Erie.
Patricia was a 1975 graduate of Tech
Memorial High School and had been an endoscopic tech at St. Vincent Health
Center for seven years.
She was a member of Emmanuel
Presbyterian Church. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life. She enjoyed
playing bingo, traveling, especially to the Caribbean, and walking.
In addition to her parents, she is
survived by her husband of 37 years, Jeffrey Wells, of Erie; two sons, David
Wells, wife Reanne and Jacob Wells, wife Krista, both
of Erie; three grandchildren, Richelle, Makenna and
Colton Wells, all of Erie; four sisters, Sharon Wells, husband Donald, of
Fairview, Diane Flinchbaugh, husband Brian, of York,
Pa., Judy Stanko, husband George, of Erie and
Christine Brown, of Erie; and two brothers, William Brown, wife Kim and Robert
Brown, wife Jill, both of Erie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

illness.

Miss West is survived by four nieces
and nephews: Thomas Chrislip, Steve Chrislip, Mary Jean Quarberg and
Diana Carter and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her only sister: Lois Chrislip.
Miss West was a self-taught pianist.
She enjoyed taking pictures and loved animals.
At Miss West’s request, her body will
be cremated and there will be a graveside service at the Carder Cemetery of
Vadis, WV at a later date.

2015 in Medical Park Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born January 31, 1936 in Belmont
County, Ohio, a son of the late Cecil and Lela Foreman Wheeler.
Gene was a member of the Ozark Church of Christ, a retired
cast house employee of the former ORMET Corporation near Hannibal, and a US
Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
daughter, Sharon Shriver, a son-in-law, Jesse Stephens, two brothers, Donald
and Richard Wheeler, and one sister, Donna Percy.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Kemp
Wheeler; two daughters, Kathy (Daniel) Clark of Bethesda and Connie Stephens of
Beallsville; four grandchildren, Christine Clark (Kevin Gessling),
Jessica Stephens, Jaime (Rhett) Swallie, and Tony
Stephens (Alyssa Smith); five great grandchildren, Carson, Paige, Carter, Kate,

R. Herman Wheeler, 85, of Carmel,
passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Herman was born on January 3, 1930 in LaRue County, KY to the late Charles L. and Grace A. (DeSpain) Wheeler. He spent most of his working career in
real estate development and finance. He retired as Senior Vice President of
Merchants National Bank in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years,
Virginia Louise; sons, Gary of Longwood, FL and Greg of Carmel, IN; grandsons,
Ryan, Patrick and Marc Wheeler; great-grandsons, Zac and Caleb Wheeler;
sisters, Mary Louise Hooper-Thompson and Ruby J. McKinnon; brother, John
Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Edward Wheeler; sister,

72, Noblesville, died on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Riverview Health at
Noblesville.
He was born Aug. 22, 1942, at
Indianapolis, to Virgil and Virginia (Davis) Whitecotton.
He was a graduate of Warren Central
High School with the class of 1960.
Mr. Whitecotton
then proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
He married Linda Sue (Lucas) Whitecotton on June 3, 1963. She survives.
He had worked for the Chrysler Corp.,
first at Indianapolis, then at New Castle.
He was a member of the United Auto
Workers.
Mr. Whitecotton
loved life and had an incredible sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf and
fishing with his grandkids. He spent time with each individual grandchild,
fostering a special relationship with them.
Survivors include: his wife; a daughter:
Lacy (Jeff) McGrew, Cicero; sister, Barbara Jackson, Indianapolis;
grandchildren, Tyler (Taylor) McGrew, Evan McGrew, and Jenna McGrew, as well as
several nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Whitecotton;
and a sister: Betty Deckard.

He was formerly employed by Hercules Motors in Canton, and
he retired in 1987 from the Ohio Department of Transportation following 40
years of service. Mr. Wickham was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ
in Caldwell, and he enjoyed reading and watching television.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four
sisters, Florence, Hazel, Lucy, and Phoebe.

Barbara E. Willey, 58, of Cambridge,
died Sunday (June 21, 2015) at her home.
She was born May 30, 1957 in
Zanesville, daughter of the late Leslie Carpenter and Geneva (Holland)
Carpenter.
Mrs. Willey was a STNA licensee and had
worked at various nursing homes throughout the area.
She was baptized in the Church of Christ in 1969.
She enjoyed listening to country music
and watching Days of Our Lives. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi S. Willey; two brothers, Larry D. Bailey
and Myron G. Carpenter; and a sister, Violet Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Paul
Willey, whom she married July 28, 1978; three sons, Paul Willey Jr. of
Lucasville, Travis Willey of Cambridge, and Brian Willey of Claysville; a
daughter, Chasity Willey (& Derek Jones) of Cambridge; a brother, Bill
Dillon of Texas; a sister, Bonnie Carpenter of Byesville; ten grandchildren; a
great-granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Susan (& Timothy) Ogle of Byesville,
Tina Willey of Cincinnati, and Diane Willey (& Robert Touvell)
of Cambridge; and brothers-in-law, Robert (& Nancy) Willey of Cambridge and
Richard Willey of Cambridge.
Visitation will be held Monday (June
29, 2015) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where
funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.

Williams, 75, of Bridgeport, Ohio went to be with Our Father on Tuesday, March
10, 2015 from Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.
She was born January 29, 1940
in Stewartsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late, John “Dusty” Kozak and Helen Clark Kozak.
Marcie was a former plan administrator with Kirby and
Associates in Wheeling, WV. And an Episcopalian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Tony Paul Williams; infant son, Mark Allen; infant daughter, Ann
Marie; brothers-in-law, Steve Moore of Scottsdale, AZ and Dorsey Fluharty of Woodsfield, OH.
Surviving are sisters, Lona Fluharty
of Woodsfield, OH, Carol Moore of Scottsdale, AZ, and Helen Majzun
of Bellaire, OH; “brother”, Bill Michael; several nieces and nephews; and
special buddy, Ernie.
In honor of Marcie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A
private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Larry
Helms officiating.
Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Hank Williamson, 59, of
Sardis, Ohio (Antioch Community) and Kiahsville,
W.Va., passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Wetzel County Hospital, New
Martinsville, West Virginia.
He was born at Hamlin, W.Va. on August
30, 1955 a son of Lige Williamson who survives of Kiahsville, W.Va., and the late Nancy Jane Mullins
Williamson.
He was a retired coal miner and was a
member of the Elmwood Church, Wayne, W.Va. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and
especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was
preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Williamson.
Surviving in addition to his father,
are his wife, Cuba Ferguson Williamson, whom he married on May 18, 1974; two sons,
Ronnie Hank (Lori) Williamson of Sardis, Ohio, James Elijah (Misty) Williamson
of Charleston, W.Va.; four sisters, Wanda Williamson of Kiahsville,
W.Va., Nancy Ramey of Kiahsville, W.Va., Mary (Aaron)
Thomas of Lavalette, W.Va., Vera (Jim) McNeely of Kiahsville, W.Va.; two brothers, Jesse (Kathy) Williamson
of Logan, W.Va., Lige (Rhonda) Williamson of Kermit,
W.Va.; former sister in law, Kim Williamson of Chapmanville, Ohio; four
granddaughters Emily, Veronica, Mikayla, Daniella Williamson; one grandson,
Nicholas Williamson,; and several nieces and nephews.

Elmwood Church, Wayne, W.Va. from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015,

Hazel M. Willison, 85, of Newark passed away on Friday,
February 20, 2015 at home. She was born
on April 23, 1929 in Calais to the late Willard and Viola (Taylor) Morris.
Hazel was a member of the Newark Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband whom she will be laid to rest with, Francis Willison; five
brothers; two sisters; and grandson, Joe Bennington.
She is survived by her four children: Phillip (Pattie)

Thomas Ray Wilson, age 71, formerly of Senecaville,
Ohio, and a patient at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell for the past two
years, died Friday, December 4, 2015, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical
Center in Cambridge. He was born June 24, 1944, in Pleasant City, Ohio, son of
the late Earl D. and Frances M. Devine Wilson. He was a graduate of Cumberland
High School and a United States Navy veteran. He was employed by a Coca-Cola
warehouse in Alaska, and he was employed by several dairies in Alaska and
Oregon. In addition, he owned and operated the Independence Park Sandwich Shop
in Anchorage. He was formerly a member of several classic car clubs in Alaska,
as well as a bowling league in Woodsfield, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, bowling,
and gardening. Thomas loved spending time with his family, his pet birds, and
restoring and showing his two 1957 Chevrolets.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one
brother, William M. “Mike” Wilson. Surviving are his wife, Karen J. Lovendowski Wilson, whom he married October 2, 1965; one
daughter, Brenda Jean (William) Applegate of Anchorage, Alaska; his siblings,
Mary Jane Allred of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Janet Sue Wilson (Bernard Snyder)
of Groveport, Ohio, Patricia Ann (Jim) Hilliker of

Waneta Faye Wines, 77, of
Bethesda, Ohio, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital. She was
born October 3, 1937 in Somerton, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank D. Farrabee and Gladys Ensley Farrabee.
Faye, as she was known to everyone, served as past
treasurer of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a devoted and
loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren were her rainbow of life. She enjoyed
gardening with its endless beauty and was an enthusiastic sports fanatic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, and Gene Farrabee;
sister, Brenda Farrabee; and daughter-in-law, Lori
Wines.
Faye is survived by her husband of 56 years, David Wines of
Bethesda, Ohio; daughter, Michele (David) Plumly of

Lodge # 300 F.& A.M., Stafford, Ohio; a member of
Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Cambridge, Ohio; a member of Aladdin Shrine
Temple, Columbus, Ohio and a member of the Lewisville Village Council,
Lewisville, Ohio.
Surviving in addition to his parents,

John E. “Gene” Wittenbrook, age
84 of Lancaster, died February 19, 2015 at the Inn at Fairfield Village. He was
born October 7, 1930, in Woodsfield, the son of the late James A. and Edna (Neuhart) Wittenbrook.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Gene was the
service manager for many years at Weiland Office Machines. He was a member of
the Eagles and Moose. He loved golfing and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his brothers Fred (Betty) Wittenbrook of Woodsfield and Bob Wittenbrook
of California; sister Dorothy Pierce of Canton, OH; nieces, nephews and
friends.
Funeral service was
held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Sheridan Funeral

Kelley was a graduate of Newark High
School, class of 1977. Kelley worked with the Knoll Group, enjoyed hunting and
riding his motorcycle. He was a good Christian man who held a very strong
faith.

J. (Kelley) Hill of Newark; a brother, Michael (Mary) Wohlheter

Harry H. Wolf, 87, of Parkersburg, West Virginia peacefully
passed away June 16, 2015 with his loving wife, Mary, by his side.
He was born April 4, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the
son of the late Harry M. Wolf (former Chief of Police for the City of Wheeling)
and Cora Marie Zimmerman Wolf.
He was a graduate of Wheeling High School and served his
country in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952, during the Korean
War.
Harry was employed by
McNeil/Libby for 10 years followed by the United States Postal Service for 20
years as a letter carrier. After his
retirement, he and Mary owned and operated several local businesses.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #15, Letters
Carriers Union and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Harry and Mary were loyal supporters of the
girls’ athletic programs at Parkersburg Catholic High School.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary M. Kress Wolf
and their five children: Rick Wolf, Chris (Chuck) Duggan of Parkersburg; Leslie
(Tom) Crooks of Marietta, Ohio; Patty Wolf of Huntington, and Kelly (Chuck) Wegmann of Bogart, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Melissa
(Bernie) Layne of Charleston; Patrick Duggan of Parkersburg; Brian (Kandace)
Duggan of Teays Valley; Jonathan (Ashley) Duggan of
Charleston; Mallory (Russell) Berry of Newnan, Georgia; Nicholas Wegmann of

Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Msgr. Joseph L. Peterson and Reverend Father Edward Bell concelebrating
the service. Entombment was at the Mt.
Carmel Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation was held at Leavitt Funeral Home on June
18th. Wake service was held at Leavitt’s
immediately following visitation Thursday evening. Reverend Mr. John Maher presided.

Bernice Wood was born June 5, 1918, to
Frank and Beulah Britton in Bicknell, Ind. She graduated from Winslow High
School in 1936, and attended Indiana University for one year, and Oakland City
College, receiving a lifetime teacher's certificate, and taught one year at
Arthur, Ind., before getting married.
She married Adron
Wood April 14,
1940, in French Lick, Ind. Bernice taught in Clinton Township Fairview School, Shelburn schools and third grade in the Sullivan Southwest
School District until her retirement in 1978. She earned a master's degree from
Indiana State University.
She was a member of Sullivan First
Christian Church, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and Sullivan County
Retired Teachers Association.
Bernice loved to cook and Sunday family
dinners were always a blessing. She learned at age 80 that she could write
clever and humorous poetry and the family compiled them into a book for her.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Adron Wood, in 2009; and a sister, Erma
Hale. She is survived by three children, Adra Gierhart (Larry) of San Antonio, Brent (Mary Susan) Wood,
and Dave (Debbie) Wood of Sullivan, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Doug, Greg,
Josh, Emily, Laura, Chris and Marni; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Friday, April 17, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in
Sullivan, with Rev. Dale Wise officiating. Interment will follow in Center
Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, April

Stanley Forrest Workman, 89, of Laings,
passed away April 3, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West
Virginia. He was born October 26, 1925
in Laings, the son of the late Marion and Edna Carr Workman.
He was inducted into the Air Force on December 25,
1943. His military locations were;
Tonopah, NV; Lemoore, CA; Chanute Field, IL; Keesler Field, MS; and Harlingen,
TX. He served as the nose gunner of the
456th Bomb Group. He was discharged
November 15, 1945 as Staff Sergeant. He
received a World War II Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign
Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, and an Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
Stanley came home, started dairy farming, and married Iris
Irene Rufener on May 16, 1947. They worked their farm, Blue Sky Farm, with
Registered Brown Swiss cattle. Stanley
also drove school bus for 27 years for Switzerland of Ohio School District.
In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death
by his wife Iris Irene Workman May 2014; three brothers, Graydon,
Shirley, and Lynn.
He is survived by his children Marlon (Linda) Workman of Laings, daughter Lesley (Joe) Bonfini
of Woodsfield, grandchildren Whitney (Tyler) Cottrell of Washington,
Pennsylvania, Jason (Lesley) Workman of Pembroke, Kentucky, Jenna
(Michael) Conway of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Miranda Bonfini

Herman Joseph Yeagle,
Jr., age 55, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at Wexner OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born
September 3, 1959, in Zanesville, son of the late Herman C. and Hilda Lucille
Archer Yeagle. He was a 1977 graduate of Caldwell
High School, and following school, he went to work for Fuqua Homes in Caldwell.
He was also employed by Greenland Petroleum, worked in the logging industry,
and was employed by Fabri Form, R&J Trucking, and
Buckeye Davis Excavating. In 1992, he founded J.R.’s Dozer Service, and he also
owned and operated a family farm for many years. Mr. Yeagle
enjoyed coon, rabbit, and deer hunting, and he loved running cars in demolition
derbies as well as attending truck and tractor pulls. He was an avid gun
collector, and he enjoyed attending auctions and working on trucks and tractors.
He also enjoyed collecting old Mack trucks and Caterpillars. He was a jack of
all trades who was known as someone who would give the shirt off his back to
anyone. But most of all, he loved his family, and he enjoyed spoiling his
granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca L.
“Becky” Brown Yeagle, whom he married January 6,
1979; one daughter, Kristy L. (Ryan) Lori of Caldwell; twin sons, Joseph A.
(Maggie) Yeagle and James J. Yeagle,
both of Caldwell; 3 granddaughters, Tylee Cobb, Rylynn Lori, and Mya Yeagle; and
several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and
6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell,
where a scripture service will follow visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with
Mass will be observed Tuesday at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin
as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.

Shirley Jean Yoss, 88, was not
only the love of her husband’s life, but she was his best friend and vice
versa. Married 69 years and hoping for
more, Shirley passed away peacefully at her home on April 6, 2015. She was surrounded by family and loved ones
while her beautiful soul slipped away.
She was born in Seattle, Washington, and was the only child
of Francis and Alice Everett. They moved
to Lynwood, California, where she spent her youth and met her husband, 1st Lt.
Leland Yoss of the Army Air Corps. They married November 21, 1946, and moved to
Ohio while her husband finished college at Ohio State.
They returned to southern California where Lee started his
business and Shirley became the most wonderful wife and the best mother of five
children that a child could have. Living
in Rolling Hills, Shirley became a volunteer at Rancho Las Amigas
to help children with disabilities. She
was secretary/treasurer for the Republican Ladies Club in Rolling Hills. When her children were grown, they had a
second home in Palm Desert, California and loved it so much that they decided
to live at the Vintage Club. She enjoyed
golf and socializing. They eventually
left there and retired in Monterra and joined
Ironwood Country Club, where she helped to start the Ironwood Ladies Golf
Group. She and Lee spent a lot of their
time socializing there. Her husband Lee, belongs to the Crocodile Card Club where Shirley and
the wives spent time enjoying trips, dinners and functions. She enjoyed all her friends, her family and
each other. She will truly be
missed.
Shirley is survived by her
spouse, Leland; her two daughters and their husbands, Denise and John Freitag, and Lori and Jeff Demorest.
Her three loving sons, Barry, David, and Mark, had passed
before her.
She is also survived by her
grandchildren Darren, Ryan, and Derek Yoss, Doniell and her husband Wes Stiner, and Michael and Elise Yoss; and her great-grandchildren, Ava, Jacob, Madison and Hannah;
and her great-grandsons Noah, and Charlie who reside in Sweden.
Shirley will certainly be missed as she left a mark of love
and devotion to all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in
Cathedral City, California on April 18, 2015.
The family appreciates that in lieu of flowers donations be made to
Animal Samaritans or The American Cancer Society. Forest Lawn Cathedral City was in charge of

Pete Yost, 68, of 10 Mile Road, New
Martinsville, departed this life Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home. He
was born December 2, 1946 in Tyler County a son of the late James and Flodie Yost.
Pete was a farmer and a protestant.
In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by three brothers; Edward, Jerry and George Yost. A sister Ellen Porter.
Pete is survived by two sisters; Exelee Minks and Lucille Gulley.
Family will receive friends Friday 11
to 1:00 pm the time of the service at Furbee Funeral
Home, Middlebourne. Pastor Bud Bassett will officiate
the service. Interment in Mercer Cemetery, 10 Mile Road.

Virginia M. Zimmerman went home to be
with the Lord on June 9, 2015. Born to Eliza Holcolm*
and Elizabeth Holcolm* on July 14, 1928. Virginia is
survived by her husband Martin Zimmerman and her six children, Diana Huskisson,
Bernardean Downing, Darlene Boyd, Martin Zimmerman
Jr., Elizabeth Miller and Steven Zimmerman, 17 grandchildren and 26 great grand children.
Family was an important part of her
life. Virginia loved her flowers, especially her red roses. She enjoyed her
winter and summer vegatables garden, she was known
for her "Green Thumb". She loved watching the wild birds outside her
dining room window.
A celebration of life will take place
June 27th at 5:00pm at the Eagles Hall, Newville Road, Orland.
We will all miss her.

Zombotti, Dolores A. “Pud”, age 86, of Proctor, WV, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at
Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
She was born September 28, 1928 at St. Joseph Settlement,
Proctor, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Evelyn Lewis Miller Sr.
Dolores “Pud”
was a graduate of Moundsville High School and a retired selector for the former
Viking Glass Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St.
Joseph’s Women’s Club. She enjoyed bowling with her sister, sister-in-law,
granddaughter and friends in the New Martinsville Women’s Bowling league.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband of 40 years, James J. Zombotti; a
brother, Charles E. Miller, Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Ferrell.
Survivors include two sons, James Matthew (Carol) Zombotti and DeWayne (Coleena) Zombotti, both of Proctor; two daughters, Mary Ann (Larry)
Kirkland of Proctor and Denise “Dee” (Mark Deitch) Zombotti of Clarington, OH; two brothers, Robert Miller of
Moundsville and John B. (Lorna) Miller of St. Joe; nine grandchildren, Lee Ann
Kirkland, Joshua “Josh” Kirkland, Zachary “Zach” Kirkland, Samuel “Sam” Zombotti, Lucas Zombotti, Kayla Deitch, George Tschappat, Zachary
Tschappat and Matthew Tschappat;
one great grandson,
Carson Kirkland; and a
faithful pet, Speck.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third
St., New Martinsville, with Rosary devotions at 7 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 11
a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 65 Frohnapfel
Lane, Proctor, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Chacko as celebrant.
Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery,
Proctor.
