Atlantic and Summit streets in Warren.
Police
were called to the home about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Donald
Giovannone, 71, was found by his friend who hadn’t heard from the man in a

Police

a Warren police report, Giovannone suffered a major injury and his 2002
Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck could not be found and has been reported missing.
Neighbors say they are shocked by the sudden death and that Giovannone
was well known and liked. Tabatha George lives just a
few houses down and said she is concerned now for her family.
“Gio is
a nice man, never had a problem with him. He always stayed inside, hunting
everything,” George said. “I just have a problem because I have kids and want
to know what is going on around the city. It has been worse and getting worse.”
Detectives are waiting on results of an autopsy which is scheduled for
Friday.

member, Bobbi Marsh, spoke next, saying Giovannone, 71, of Atlantic Street
Northwest, “was a very kind person who would do anything for anyone. He was
always thinking of others before himself.”
She
listed a long line of people who lost their father, son, brother, hunting buddy
and hunting instructor, and motorcycle and race car friend.
“Today
is his only daughter’s birthday,” she said. “Her name is Mavis. She won’t be
getting a phone call or be able to Skype with her dad today or ever again. In
fact the conversations between her and ‘Gio’ that have been going on every
other day for decades have been silenced for 10 months.”
Marsh said Giovannone’s death matters “to
all of his lifelong friends – from school mates, military veterans, co-workers
and retired friends – that they will not have the chance to hear his distinct
voice and hear him crack a joke and laugh.”
But the
Giovannone family includes men who were ministers. “We were taught to not to
hate but to forgive in our hearts, not to judge others, and at the same time be
accountable for the decisions and actions we make,” she said.
Chris
Becker, assistant county prosecutor, said prosecutors believe Honsaker went to
Giovannone’s house to rob him of cash that Honsaker probably believed
Giovannone had withdrawn from the bank in anticipation of a hunting trip
intended to start in a few days.
Instead,
Honsaker, who had been to prison three times in the past, killed his
great-uncle with a knife and fled with cash, Giovannone’s pickup truck and
identification card.
But
Honsaker left the truck in the Jamestown Plaza parking lot on Mahoning Avenue,
got a ride from someone and dumped the ID, knife and his blood-stained pants in
a garbage receptacle used for construction materials behind the plaza.
Those
items were recovered from the receptacle about 10 days later, and the pants
contained DNA from Honsaker and Giovannone, Becker said. Becker gave credit to
Detective John Greaver of the Warren Police Department for providing
prosecutors with evidence of Honsaker’s guilt.
“We are
satisified in that he did not have to die,” Judi Giovannone Gensburg, Donald
Giovannone’s sister, said of Honsaker. “We raised this little boy, we know he went to church. We didn’t want him to die.
We’re not happy, but we’re OK.”
Becker
noted that it can be difficult to convince juries to deliver a death sentence.
“There
were only two death sentences in Ohio last year, and one of them was in
Trumbull County,” Becker said of David Martin, who killed a man and nearly
killed a woman at a house on Oak Street Southwest in 2012.
Marsh
said the murder “has torn our family apart, has broken ties, and has caused our
family a lot of problems. ... We hope that we can heal and be at peace as a
family unit again.”

John Clyde Goodballet, 70, of Suwanee,
died on Friday, August 15, 2014, with his family by his side. John was born and raised in East Liverpool,

entrepreneurial spirit and, while living in Florida, was able to turn his

Hardaway, Margaret Nadine Hardaway, nee Bessey
Source: The Myers Funeral Service & Crematory,Porterville, California; June, 2014
Margaret Nadine (Bessey) Hardaway
passed away Friday, June 27,2014 in Porterville. She
was 88.
A native of Terra Bella, Nadine,
as she was called all her life, lived her last fifteen years in Springville
after many years away from Tulare County. She spent her last months at
Porterville Convalescent Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Richard (Dick) Hardaway, her parents and all her siblings except for her
younger sister Doreen Landers of Tulsa.
In addition to her sister, she is
survived by her two sons Michael and Erik, her two grandsons Jason and Aaron,
and her two great-grandsons Cristofer and Aaden, as well as daughter-in-law
Julie McAmis Hardaway (Erik) and granddaughter-in-law Bree Licudine Hardaway
(Aaron).
Nadine was born on a ranch
outside Terra Bella, CA, on Sept 21, 1925, the twelfth child of thirteen born
to Merritt Cole Bessey and Lura Elmina Bundy. One of her older brothers,
Ronald, was her grammar school [teacher] three different years. After
graduating Porterville High School in 1943, she attended Business College in
Oakland until she left to marry Dick Hardaway in March 1945 while he was home
on short leave from the Marine Corps. They were married 62 years until his
death in 2007.
While homemaking was her
life-long profession, Nadine worked a number of jobs outside the home,
generally as a book-keeper. In her early years in Porterville she worked for
Western Auto and for Montgomery Ward. In the 1960's, she worked for the Merced
Sun-Star Newspaper in Merced.
Nadine was always an artist at
heart, achieving her greatest artistic successes as a float designer for
parades in Porterville, as well as a set designer for church plays and as a
theme party decorator. Pictures of some of her works can be seen in museums in
Kern County and in Los Angeles.
Beyond her art and her love of her husband
and her sons, Nadine loved children, especially babies, instantly bonding with
every small child she met. It was once said that, for her, if there was a baby
in the room, there was only a baby in the room. The world's babies as well as
everyone she knew are the poorer for her passing.
Visitation will be held at Myers
Chapel on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Graveside service
will be held at Vandalia Cemetery on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 8:00 AM. It will

Marshall County woman’s family
still looking for justice 5 years after her murder
ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) - It’s been
five years since the death of Jennifer Hinote.
Her body was found behind a car
dealership in Albertville.
[ Body
found behind car lot identified as missing woman ]
Now, her mother wants justice and
sheriff’s officials believe someone out there can help bring this cold case to
an arrest.
The case was originally listed as a
death investigation.
Now, Sheriff Phil Sims says it’s murder and the goal is to make an arrest.
“It’s been a long five years. We
haven’t learned a whole lot about what happened. We would just like to know
more,” said Hinote’s mother, Mary Beth Parker.
Parker says her daughter would
light up any room she walked into but that ended in January 2014 when her body
was found behind the Nissan dealership in Albertville.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. - For five long
years a Marshall County family has wanted answers. The investigation into how
Jennifer Lynn Hinote, a mom of three, died has gone cold, but the family and
investigators hope in speaking out, that won't be the case for long.
"She was a beautiful girl,"
remembered mom Mary Beth Parker, "She had the best smile in the world. She
just kind of lit up a room. Any time she walked in, everybody just loved
her."
"December of 2013 was the last time
I spoke with her," Parker said, "She disappeared. We looked for her.
We filed a missing persons report. We looked for her for about a month."
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office
put out the word about Hinote's disappearance. A few weeks later, a new
investigation started.
Someone found Hinote’s body in January.
"They found her in a field next to the Nissan place in Albertville,"
Parker said.
"I struggled a lot," she
added, "But through God, I was able to get through it."
It's been a long five years since then
- without answers. "We need some more information," Parker said.
Marshall County Sheriff's Office
investigators are actively working this cold case as a homicide.
"Ultimately, if we can bring closure to the family, that's our number one
goal," said Assistant Chief Deputy Steve Guthrie.
Parker hopes speaking out will help
bring a piece of information to light that will finally give them
answers. "There is somebody out there," she said, "It's been
five years, and I know that somebody knows something about this."
"We just want justice for Jennifer."
If you have any information about this
case, call the Marshall County Sheriff's Office at (256)582-2034.
